She will be joined on the management team by Antonio Martínez Millana as deputy director and David de Andrés Martínez as administration manager

María Guillem Sánchez has been elected as the new director of the ITACA Institute after the elections held on February 12. A leading researcher and head of the COR group, Guillem succeeds José Manuel Catalá, who led the Institute for the past eight years.

Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of ITACA, obtained over twelve years as deputy director, support a vision focused on growth and continuous improvement. She will be joined on the management team by Antonio Martínez Millana as deputy director and David de Andrés Martínez as administration manager.

«After twelve years as deputy director, I take on this challenge with enthusiasm, commitment, and the firm conviction that, together, we can continue to advance ITACA«, highlights the new director.

María Guillem, who will officially assume her new role in the coming weeks, has expressed her gratitude to José Manuel Catalá for his dedication and leadership over the years, as well as to Alberto Bonastre for his contributions and commitment to ITACA, as a member of the management team.

“Their work has been key to the growth of the Institute and to continue advancing in this new stage’, says the UPV professor.

Objectives of the new team

Among the main objectives of the new management are the promotion of scientific production, the increase in the attraction of resources, the improvement of knowledge transfer and the consolidation of ITACA’s prestige.

To this end, the management is committed to improving work spaces and streamlining management, promoting regulations that favour research and ensuring that the needs and proposals of researchers are taken into account in decision-making forums.

With this approach, the new management team reaffirms its commitment to excellence and innovation, working to ensure that ITACA continues to be a benchmark in the field of research and technological development.
