José-Manuel Catalá-Civera

ITACA Director

Dr. Jose M. Catalá-Civers became a Full Professor of the Communications Department (UPV) in 2011. He has coauthored more than 200 articles in referred journals and conference proceedings and more than 50 engineering reports for companies. He holds more than 20 patents. His research interests include the design and application of microwave technology. He is currently a Board Member of the Association of Microwave Power in Europe for Research and Education (AMPERE), a European-based organization devoted to the promotion of RF and microwave energy.


María Guillem-Sánchez

ITACA Deputy Director

Dr. Maria S. Guillem was a Fulbright fellow at Northwestern University and currently is an Associate Professor at the Electronics Engineering Department at UPV. Dr. Guillem is co-author of 40 international scientific research papers, more than 100 conference papers, 3 patents, and has participated in 40 nation/international research projects, 7 of them as Principal Investigator. Her research interests include the development of medical instrumentation and signal processing for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac diseases. She participates in the Executive Board of the Consortium for Electrocardiographic imaging and the Board of Directors of Computing in Cardiology.


Alberto-Miguel Bonastre-Pina

ITACA Administration Manager

Dr. Alberto Bonastre received the M. Sc. degree in computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the Universidad Potécnica de Valencia (UPV), Spain, 1991 and 2001, respectively. He is Associate Professor at UPV and member of the Wireless Sensor Networks Area (RIS) of ITACA Institute. He is currently teaching Computer Networks and Wireless Sensor Networks. His research is centered on wireless sensor networks applications.
