The INFORMA FORESTS project will hold the Final Conference on 4 June

The event will bring together leading researchers, European policy representatives, and forestry practitioners to discuss how sustainable forest management can help address the climate emergency.

The INFORMA FORESTS Project, coordinated by ITACA-UPV, will hold its final conference under the title “Sustainable Forest Management under Climate Change: Evidence, Practice and Policy” on 4 June 2026 at MUVIM (Valencia).

The event will bring together leading researchers, European policy representatives, and forestry practitioners to discuss how sustainable forest management can help address the climate emergency.

The conference will also showcase the main outcomes of the INFORMA project, highlighting scientific evidence on sustainable forest management, ecosystem functioning, and the carbon mitigation potential of forests.

The program will provide practical guidance to forest practitioners through the exchange of lessons learned and best practices from across Europe’s forest bioregions. In addition, the conference aims to deliver policy-relevant recommendations to support regional, national, and European decision-makers in developing effective forest policies.

Another key focus of the event will be the discussion of future research priorities, including identifying current knowledge gaps and research needs to advance sustainable forest management under climate change.

The conference offers an opportunity to connect with peers, exchange knowledge, and help shape the future of science-based forestry and climate action.

Participants can consult the updated programme (15 May 2026 version) and register for the conference through the official event website. Please note that the conference will be held exclusively in person.
