Yesterday our colleague Ferrán Mocholí passed away.
Ferrán joined ITACA in 2016. He was one of the Institute’s most promising young researchers with 9 articles in high-impact scientific journals, 5 conference articles, and a patent on monitoring personal mobility vehicles in urban settings.
We will always remember him as an excellent researcher and, above all, as a great, generous and kind person.

ITACA researchers have coordinated the INFORMA FORESTS project. Over four years, the project has worked across five European biogeographical regions to analyse how to increase the resilience of forest ecosystems to increasingly severe threats, including prolonged droughts, large wildfires, pests and extreme weather events.

The collaboration with DIMAS group, led by researcher José Manuel Catalá. has included feasibility studies, electromagnetic simulation, prototype design and manufacture, experimental testing, technological optimisation and the protection of results through patents.
The annual event brought together ITACA’s research community to share scientific and technological advances, strengthen collaboration, and recognise outstanding achievements in research and knowledge transfer.
