ITACA-WIICT 2026 will bring the Institute’s research community to share knowledge, impact and innovation

The event will take place on 16 July at the CPI-UPV and will include talks on artificial intelligence and science communication, project presentations, a poster session, and an awards and recognition ceremony

ITACA-UPV will hold a new edition of ITACA-WIICT on 16 July, an event designed to share the scientific and technological advances achieved by its research groups, promote knowledge and highlight the impact of its work.

The event will take place at the Red Cube Auditorium in the CPI-UPV, from 9.30 a.m. to 1.10 p.m., and will bring together researchers, professionals and members of the university community.

The institutional opening will be led by Salvador Coll Arnau, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the UPV. This will be followed by the opening keynote, “Unravelling AI: from teaching to research”, delivered by Emilio Soria, Professor at the University of Valencia and Academic Director at Datamecum.

Research with impact

One of the main sessions will be the “ITACA with Impact” Round Robin, a space in which the Institute’s different teams will present their research areas, projects and key results in a dynamic format.

The programme will also include “The Golden Minute”, an activity designed to communicate the most relevant ideas and contributions arising from ITACA’s research in a clear and concise way.

This will be followed by a poster session and coffee break, providing an opportunity to explore ongoing projects in greater detail and encourage dialogue and collaboration among participants.

Communicating science to reach society

The event will also feature Luis Quevedo, an expert in science communication and public engagement, who will deliver the closing session, “How to turn results into stories”. The talk will address the importance of bringing scientific knowledge closer to society through narratives that are accessible, engaging and rigorous.

ITACA-WIICT 2026 will conclude with an awards and research recognition ceremony, through which the Institute will celebrate the excellence, creativity and contribution of its research community to scientific and technological development.

With this new edition, ITACA reinforces its commitment to innovation, knowledge transfer and the development of solutions capable of making a positive impact on the university, businesses and society.
