ITACA Forward: commitment to innovation and technology transfer

ITACA has obtained funding to consolidate “ITACA Forward,” a new Scientific Business Innovation Unit designed to promote synergies between science and business.

The ITACA Institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has obtained funding to reinforce its capacity for innovation and technology transfer, with the aim of promoting closer collaboration between science and business.

The funding received by the ITACA Institute is part of the programme for the Potenciación de Unidades Científicas de Desarrollo de Tecnologías y Difusión del Conocimiento hacia la Empresa, promoted by the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i) of the Generalitat Valenciana, as part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme of the Valencian Community 2021–2027 (Ref. INNVA2/2025/3 and INNVA2/2025/5).

The project, entitled “ITACA Forward: UCIE of the ITACA Institute”, benefits from significant funding to consolidate this scientific unit for business innovation. The project wants to promove the applied research through three main objectives: facilitating technology transfer, fostering collaboration with the business sector, and supporting the creation of technology-based companies.

“This new funding will help strengthen the link between university research and the productive bussiness, promoting a more competitive and innovative ecosystem”, highlight from the ITACA Institute’s management team.

This project therefore represents a major boost for the technological innovation ecosystem, as it reinforces synergies between ITACA’s research groups and their stakeholders, strengthening the practical application of scientific knowledge in strategic sectors.

“This initiative consolidates ITACA’s position as a key player in technology transfer and in generating value from knowledge,” conclude from the UPV research centre.
