On Thursday, 10 July, the ITACA Institute at the Universitat Politècnica de València will host WIICT 2025 (Workshop on Innovation in Information and Communication Technologies), an open event designed to showcase how the digital technologies developed at the institute are helping to address some of the most pressing social, environmental and economic challenges of our age.
The event will take place from 9:30 to 13:00 at the Red Cube Auditorium of the Ciudad Politécnica de la Innovación, and will bring together leading voices from the scientific and technological fields. Also ITACA research group leaders, who will present recent results and real-world applications of their work in areas such as healthcare, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and air navigation.
Event highlights
The day will begin with a welcome speech by Salvador Coll Arnau, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the UPV. The opening keynote will be delivered by Carmina G. Almudéver, Professor at the UPV, specialist in quantum computing architectures and co-founder of QSpain. Her talk, titled “A Systematic Vision of Quantum Computing”, will explore the advances and challenges of one of the most disruptive technologies of the coming decade.
Jordi Linares, UPV professor and coordinator of ValgrAI, will close the event with the talk “AI that is Transforming the World”. He will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence across multiple sectors of society, with a focus on its ethical and social implications.
The programme will also include a roundtable session featuring ITACA research group leaders, a scientific poster session and the presentation of the Researcher of the Year Award.
