The Generalitat Valenciana explores the latest cutting-edge health technologies at ITACA-COR

Mariola Penadés, Director of Research and Innovation, visited last 4th of October the ITACA-COR installations at UPV

Mariola Penadés, Director of Research and Innovation from the Regional Ministry of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana (GVA), visited last 4th of October the ITACA-COR installations   at UPV to learn about the latest advances in research and innovation developed by ITACA-COR.

During the visit, Penadés was introduced to the innovative technologies for the diagnosis and prevention of cardiac arrhythmias developed by Corify Care, a spin-off company of the UPV and the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, among other initatives.

Andreu Climent, researcher and CEO of Corify Care, explained how their solutions are set to revolutionize the detection and treatment of heart arrhythmias, offering a non-invasive approach that could improve patient results significantly.

“The  Imageless ECGI technology is an innovative technique for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. This technology allows the clinical team to visualise the electrical activity of the heart globally, quickly, safely and more accurately, reducing the risk to patients and improving the accuracy and effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment”, highlighted the ITACA researcher.

By these reason, Andreu Climent said that ITACA-COR researchers are working to develope “more reliable ECGI solutions, improving diagnosis and treatment results for atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias”.

During the meeting, the UPV’s commitment to innovation in healthcare was highlighted. Since 2019, the university has filed 50 patents, secured 34 software licenses, and launched 7 spin-offs focused on the healthcare sector. These achievements underscore the productive collaboration between academia, industry, and the healthcare system, aiming to deliver real-world impact and improve public health.

Finally, Penadés’ visit also emphasized the transformative potential of partnerships between universities and healthcare organisations to address critical medical challenges, positioning the UPV as a leader in healthcare innovation both regionally and internationally.
