On Wednesday 27 November, ITACA researchers are organising a technical conference within the context of the COOLING DOWN project. The event will address the challenges to achieve a more sustainable cooling model in Europe for the coming decades.
The workshop will analyze the potential of renewable cooling technologies to facilitate adaptation to climate change, with a special focus on reducing the heat island effect in urban areas.
‘The cooling and heating sector is crucial for comfort and energy efficiency in urban environments, but it faces significant challenges in the transition to sustainable energy’ say ITACA researchers.
Therefore, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it is key to promote technological innovations that foster more renewable and efficient solutions.

‘A highlight of the COOLING DOWN project is the presentation of SITE, a software tool designed to assist municipal technicians in the evaluation and monitoring of renewable cooling measures in municipal buildings’, the event organisers emphasise.
Finally, the conference is aimed at municipal technicians, councillors, companies in the sector, researchers and citizens interested in sustainable solutions for their communities.
