Maria Guillem, deputy director of ITACA-UPV and head of the COR-ITACA group, participated in the prestigious Gordon Research Conference on Cardiac Arrhythmia Mechanisms, a leading event where leaders in cardiac electrophysiology discuss scientific and clinical advances in the treatment of arrhythmias.
During her presentation, entitled ‘Imageless Electrocardiographic Imaging: The Path to Commercialisation’, Guillem addressed the impact and feasibility of imageless ECGI.
This emerging technology provides real-time information on the heart’s electrical activity without the need for prior MRI or CT scans, representing a key advance in personalising arrhythmia treatment and clinical decision-making.
“The imageless ECGI is transforming non-invasive cardiac mapping, offering a new frontier in electrophysiology. This technology enhances clinical decision-making and personalized arrhythmia treatment by providing real-time insights into the heart’s electrical activity—without the need for additional imaging techniques”, highlighted María Guillem.
The Gordon Research Conference
The Gordon Research Conference, held in Lucca, Italy, annually brings together leading researchers in cardiac electrophysiology, promoting the exchange of knowledge on new diagnostic and treatment strategies.
Maria Guillem’s presence at this event reinforces the commitment of the ITACA Institute and the COR group to scientific innovation and research, promoting solutions that can be translated into clinical practice.
Her work represents a significant step towards the commercialisation of this technology, bringing advanced electrocardiography closer to medical routine and improving the quality of life of patients with heart rhythm diseases.
