Today, February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, at ITACA we want to highlight the excellent work of the women researchers who are part of our institute. We do so with the firm conviction that their daily work not only drives knowledge and innovation, but also contributes to building a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable society.
Currently, nearly 40% of ITACA’s research staff are women, a date that confirms the institute’s strong commitment and, in particular, that of the UPV, to advancing toward real equality and bringing science and technology closer to new generations, fostering scientific vocations without gender barriers.
Making female role models in science and technology visible is also key to inspiring scientific vocations from an early age, breaking stereotypes, and encouraging girls and young women to see themselves as future researchers, engineers, or technologists.
They are not all who they are, but we do know that without them, we would not be who we are.
Thank you so much!
