“EIT Health Spain” information day at UPV

Vicente Traver, José Millet and Andreu Climent, researchers of ITACA Institute, presented their experiences

On 2 October, Izabel Alfany, Director of EIT Health Spain, visited Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) to explore new opportunities for collaboration between EIT Health and the university’s scientific community, focusing on the promotion of innovation projects aimed at improving health. During her visit, Alfany met with the UPV Rector, José E. Capilla, and university community members to identify synergies and possible strategic collaborations.

The day included an information session at the Polytechnic City of Innovation, where several projects developed by UPV researchers within EIT Health, a leading European health innovation initiative, were presented.

Vicente Traver, second on the left, was present at the meeting with the Rector of the UPV and the Director of EIT Health Spain.

Vicente Traver, from the University’s Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (ITACA), highlighted the UPV’s extensive experience in this field and explained the key differences between EIT Health initiatives and other European programmes.

José Millet, also from ITACA, gave an overview of the innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives in the health sector promoted by the university and supported by EIT Health.

Finally, Andreu M. Climent, ITACA researcher and founder of Corify Care SL, shared his experience as a scientific entrepreneur. He explained how, with the support of EIT Health, he managed to bring an innovative technology in the field of cardiac mapping to the market, highlighting its evolution from initial research to practical application in clinical settings.
