Cardiac Oriented Research Group - COR

CARE-ECGI

The goal of CARE-ECGI is to develop a non-invasive mapping system that allows to display the ventricular electrical activity on the heart in real time to support the pacemaker treatment.

The CARE-ECGI consortium will integrate Corify Care’s electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI) technology with artificial intelligence tools, mathematical cardiac modeling, and impedance tomography to develop an innovative device capable of enhancing the entire treatment process for cardiac patients. This technology will undergo validation through a study at two leading centers, paving the way for market advancement in 2027. The developed technology has the potential to become the cardiological standard of the 21st century, akin to the role the electrocardiogram played in the 20th century.

The CARE-ECGI project is comprised of an interdisciplinary team led by Corify Care, a medical device startup honored by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology as the most innovative project of 2020. Collaborating with the ITACA Institute at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, a specialist in technology transfer, as well as two leading healthcare research centers in the country—the Gregorio Marañón Health Research Institute and the IDIBAPS Institute, which includes the Clinic Hospital of Barcelona—the team not only assists in the design of CARE-ECGI but also serves as the clinical platform for its validation.

The CARE-ECGI technological solution will enhance the effectiveness of treatments for heart failure and pacemaker implantation, increasing the number of treatment-responsive patients while reducing healthcare costs. Furthermore, it will accelerate the development of an entirely new line of non-invasive medical devices, bolstering precision medicine. Ultimately, the proposal will drive the business growth of Corify Care.
